TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 2011 | | Hello Fooboozers! Philly Beer Week officially began over the weekend, and if you’re reading this, I’m guessing that you made it through the first few rounds of events and and are looking for more. Foobooz has you covered with all the Beer Week reporting you could possibly need. Just for starters, we’ve got our official round-up of Beer Week round-ups, a map of the path followed by the Hammer of Glory (for those of you who might want to re-create the historic route yourselves), and a peek at the brand-spankin’ new Kenzinger commercial that debuted on Saturday night at Johnny Brenda’s. As the week rolls on, we’ll have more coming, so keep those eyes glued to Foobooz for updates, reviews and behind-the-scenes reports. In other news, XXX Shine finally made it into the bottle and (subsequently) into stores. We mourned the passing of the Food Pyramid (and the unveiling of its successor, MyPlate) by mocking both of them mercilessly, got the scoop on the sudden closure of Tweed (which messed up plans for this month's Restaurant Club dinner; we'll let you know when it's rescheduled), then cringed at the one-bell review of Farmer’s Daughter. And finally, for even more Beer Week fun, be sure to check out our Philly Beer Week Tumblr where we … do whatever one does on Tumblr. Actually, it’s a collection of flyers, event info, locations and participating breweries, just to give you one more way to keep track of everything cool that’s going on during the beeriest week of the year. — Jason Sheehan, Food Editor | | | | XXX Action in Philly Moonshine is hot.
